Linux Mint 12 KDE-based Kubuntu 11.10, was built on the KDE desktop environment with the support of SC 4.7.4 Linux kernel 3.0. While Linux Mint LXDE 12  Ubuntu 11.10-based desktop environment includes LXDE 0.5.0, a very lightweight desktop environment.

Linux Mint 12 KDE is available as a Live CD and Live DVD for 32-bit architecture and 64-bit. Unlike the Linux Mint 12 KDE, Linux Mint 12 LXDE Live CD is only available as 32-bit only (download link can be found at the end of this article).

DOWNLOAD UBUNTU 12.04 LTS BETA 1

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 1 is now powered by Linux kernel 3.2.6 with a series of updates to applications that are included. In this release, Mozilla Firefox has been updated to version 11.0 semetara Thunder Bird is the version that came with 10.0. LibreOffice office application is now updated to version 3.5.0 and the Transmission torrent downloader 2.50 has also been included.






Other developments in this first beta release, Unity interface has been getting increased and improved, adding support for the ClickPad as well as an increase in the Ubuntu Software Center.

The first beta release for Kubuntu 12.04, has now been built on the latest release KDE desktop environment with LightDM SC 4.8.0 as the default login manager. Oxygen GTK3, Calligra Owncloud office suite and also available on the Kubuntu LTS Beta 1 12.04.



Xubuntu 12.04 LTS release Beta 1 was developed on the latest Xfce desktop environment version 4.8. Ubiquity installer has been used in this release, but the package alacarte and other GNOME packages have been removed.


The first beta release Lubuntu 12.04 LightDm LTS has been used by GTK greeter as the login manager.
